Methodology and Sources
China Inside America reports are based on primary-source documentation: federal regulatory filings, congressional testimony, executive agency disclosures, FARA registration records, CFIUS annual reports, Commerce Department export control orders, and court records. Secondary sources are limited to peer-reviewed research, official government publications, and reporting from established news organizations with named sourcing.
Reports do not characterize legal commercial activity as misconduct. Where federal agencies have made formal determinations — sanctions designations, entity list additions, CFIUS-ordered divestitures, or congressional findings — those determinations are reported as the record. Where no formal determination exists, the report documents the factual record without editorial characterization.
